Kitchen and Bath Industry Show 2018 Wrap-Up

Every year, the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) hosts KBIS, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. This show presents the latest inventions, products and trends within the industry. KBIS has been a market leader over the past 50 years. KBIS hosts more than 600 leading brands every year, 100 of which are new companies with exciting technology and designs. KBIS is the preferred kitchen and bath industry event as it is the only one that allows networking directly with manufacturers on such a large scale.

This past January, professionals in the kitchen and bath industry joined once again to take part in the interactive show, learn about upcoming trends and receive awards. KBIS is a great platform for companies to release and demonstrate their new products. For example, Dal-Tile released a beautiful new collection !

New technologies, as well as modern and minimalist designs, were the big winners at this year’s show.

The Grid by Kallista was this year’s overall winner! Created with 3D printing technology, this bathroom sink faucet with cube handles was inspired by the cubist and Mid-Century modern movements.

LED lights are still a front-runner in kitchen lighting. Tresco’s Snap Panel Lighting was a big hit at KBIS this year! Each panel of LED lights is 12-inch squares with 16 snap off 3-inch squares that can be formed into any shape or size you need around your kitchen.

Laundry has never been easier with Samsung’s new set, FlexWash and FlexDry . Both machines come with two different compartments that allow you to separate delicates and everyday laundry with ease!

DeKauri, a freestanding bathroom vanity unit designed by Cosentino and Riva 1920, was one of the most exciting pieces showcased at KBIS this year. The unit is crafted from New Zealand’s beautiful Kauri wood, a white Dekton trough sink, mirror and LED lighting. The doors can be closed, and the vanity is then hidden away from prying eyes.

Check out Metropolis Magazine to discover more about the most exciting releases and unveilings from this year. Throughout 2018, we can expect an increase in the use of smart appliances, modern and creative designs as well as environmentally smarter lighting like LEDs.

If you want to experience the event first hand and stay ahead of market trends, make sure to register next year! Join KBIS from February 19-21 2019 in Las Vegas!
